“ We ordered takeout dinners. The cashier was very helpful and upbeat. Comments on the food: The quantities were extremely large - enough for two more meals. Food quality was fresh and cooked well. Our only issue was that both meals were quite bland. The addition of appropriate spices would have made this a 5 star review. ”
“ Everything about this place is awesome!! The food, service and setting is great. Definitely the most authentic place I've been to in the tri-cities! The food was delicious and the aguas frescas are perfect! ”
“ Our new favorite. They do the best chile rellenos in JC. Prices are great for the size of plates. Friendly service and outstanding food. ”
“ We stopped in for dinner after hiking some at Roan Mountain. It's very festive inside. To the right is a little market. The restaurant is straight ahead and to the left. We were seated to the left against the windows that overlooks a nice green area. The hostesses were very nice. Our server, Joel, came right away and took our drink order, followed by a nice lady who brought chips and salsa. Our server asked if we were interested in some spicy sauces. We said yes and he brought two bottles. One was jalapeño based and he said the other was hard to describe but it was spicier. We tried both and really liked the jalapeño based. I ordered guacamole, which was a huge portion and had just the right amount of onions and diced tomatoes. We ordered carnitas, which came with tortillas (we ordered it with flour but you could get corn instead). It also came with roasted jalapeños and onions, refried beans and rice. It was a HUGE portion. I'm glad we split! Joel was a delight- so very nice and also attentive. The food was DELICIOUS! This will definitely be a place we return to! ”
“ Best Mexican grocery in town that I have found. Tried marinated pork from the counter it was great on the grill the next night. ”
“ Located back a bit from N. Roan, you can enter from the main large parking lot or a side street that opens into the lot. The lot is shared with another business, but there is plenty of parking near the restaurant. There is parking adjacent to the building with two handicapped spaces in front of the entrance with a large walkway to the door. The remaining parking is across a travel lane. Everything is paved so walking is easy. As you enter the foyer, the restaurant entrance is to the right. Once you enter the restaurant, the host station is in front. Seating is a mix of tables and booths. We were greeted as we came in and taken to a booth along the outside of the seating area. The window looked out onto a nicely landscaped area which added a nice touch to the ambiance. The previous restaurant occupying the building was a Chinese buffet, and the booths are definitely from the previous occupant, but everything seemed to be in good condition. In addition, the tables are not crammed together so it is easy to move about. Although we did not walk through, there is also a grocery area to the right as you enter the restaurant. The selection seemed pretty large with dry goods, fresh produce, and refrigerated/ frozen items. We received chips and salsa right before our server brought the menus and took our drink order. The chips were fine and the salsa had a slight chipotle taste. Overall, an above average start to the meal. We needed several minutes to work through the menu. While it had many typical items, there were several which are more unusual. The descriptions of each item in the menu as well as several pictures made deciding difficult. Once we ordered, our food took about 15 minutes to arrive. The carnitas was an excellent choice. The meat was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. It fell apart with a fork. The rice is not typical Mexican restaurant rice. While not exotic, it was different enough to be noticeable and was quite good. The refried beans were typical. The carnitas also came with three tortillas, some sautéed onions and jalapeno peppers, and a nice salsa which had decent heat and great flavor. My dining partner had the pollo asado, several thin pieces of chicken breast cooked in a red sauce. The sauce is almost charred onto the meat. This was another excellent choice. The sauce added a wonderful flavor and the chicken remained moist and tender. Sides were tortillas, rice, and refried beans. Interestingly, they also offer a breakfast menu six days a week. Based on the menu over the grill area, it consists of expected items like breakfast burritos, but also the typical eggs and sausage. I expect I will be trying this part of their menu in the near future. If their breakfast is as good as the rest of the menu, there may not be a reason to ever leave. ”
“ We ended up here via proximity to our hotel. The food was delicious, the service was attentive and friendly. ”
“ First time ordering from this place thru doordash. Did not expect much but it was so amazing, asked for a lot of sauces on doordash and we sure did get it. Tripas were still so crispy . Lengua was yummy. The soup was the best too. This place has became or new favorite. ”
“ This was such a delightful meal and the people were all so fun! We enjoyed every morsel and the service was wonderful and personable!!! Will return and spread the word! Great place to dine! ”
